They’ve worked on productions for virtually every major studio and opened Arcay Studios in 2009. Koren Young
Koren Young is an award-winning filmmaker, sound designer, and podcaster. He began telling stories using a Super 8 film camera in grade school. Koren studied Cinema & Television Arts at CSUN where he produced short films that have screened in festivals around the world. Koren’s venture into the film industry began as an intern for Dreamworks Animation and First Look Studios at the Cannes Film Festival.
For over 15 years, Koren has been a noteworthy leader in the home video entertainment space. He has worked on hundreds of major titles for virtually every major studio including Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Universal Studios, and Disney. He cofounded Arcay Studios in 2009 as a way to provide studio-quality services to smaller distributors and independent filmmakers.
Koren is passionate about mentoring the filmmakers of tomorrow. He has personally worked with hundreds of students from College of the Canyons, California State University Northridge, and The Masters University on honing their filmmaking skills through classes, internships, and collaborations.
Ryan Young
If you’ve gone to the movies in the last 10 years, you’ve seen and heard Ryan Young’s work. Ryan is one of the world’s foremost ADR mixers, sound editors, and re-recording mixers. Having worked on over 400 major titles for studios like Warner Brothers, Fox, Universal, and Pixar, his credits include everything from Star Trek to Mad Max, and Batman to The Hunger Games.
Ryan’s fascination with sound began as a child when he experimented by overdubbing on a dual cassette deck. Ryan pursued sound in college where he studied radio, television & film. His earliest work was creating sound design for award-winning animated shorts from Disney’s California Institute of the Arts. Ryan created a space for himself in the film and television world by running an innovative mobile ADR rig that recorded actors on location to save them a trip to the studio.
Ryan is a member of Avid’s elite family of certified Pro Tools Operators and is also a member of the I.A.T.S.E. Motion Picture Editors Guild. He is a two-time Golden Reel Award-winner from the Motion Picture Sound Editors. Ryan loves being able to enhance a story through clear dialogue and unique sound design.
