Arcay Studios Contributes Post-Production Audio and Color to If Every Day Was Christmas
Arcay Studios recently had the opportunity to contribute to If Every Day Was Christmas, a heartfelt holiday proof-of-concept film inspired by the musical Our Silent Night from Emmy Award–winner and Academy Award® nominee John Debney. The project is currently being presented to investors and distributors as the creative team works toward developing a full feature film adaptation.
Written and directed by Emmy Award–winner Bruce Johnson, If Every Day Was Christmas blends music, tradition, and contemporary storytelling against the winter beauty and history of Salzburg, Austria — the birthplace of the beloved Christmas carol Silent Night. The story follows Andreas, a young composer whose family has produced Salzburg’s annual Christmas concert for generations. As modern pressures begin threatening the tradition, he reconnects with Gabby, a former collaborator turned successful Broadway songwriter, to reimagine what the concert — and the holiday spirit itself — could become.

The production features original music by acclaimed composer John Debney, whose celebrated film scores span projects including The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Hocus Pocus, and The Greatest Showman. With themes centered around unity, tradition, and rediscovering hope through music, the short film serves as both an emotional holiday story and a proof of concept for a larger cinematic vision.
Arcay Studios’ Koren Young contributed in multiple roles throughout production and post-production, including on-set lighting and location audio during principal photography at the Garry Marshall Theatre in Burbank, California. Additional second unit footage was captured on location in Salzburg, Austria, helping bring an authentic European atmosphere to the project.
Following production, Arcay Studios handled sound design work using Fairlight inside DaVinci Resolve Studio, crafting an immersive audio experience that supported the film’s musical performances, dialogue, and emotional storytelling. The sound design process focused on enhancing the warmth and intimacy of the holiday setting while balancing cinematic musical elements with naturalistic ambience and clean dialogue.
The project also included professional color grading work completed in DaVinci Resolve Studio, helping unify footage captured across multiple locations and giving the film its rich holiday atmosphere and cinematic visual style.

The production brought together an accomplished creative team, including director of photography Josh Turchetta, editor Josh Turchetta, visual effects artist Peter Lalic, and a talented cast led by Julius von Maldeghem and Gina Vitori.
At Arcay Studios, we’re passionate about helping filmmakers bring emotionally driven stories to life through professional post-production services including sound design, audio mixing, dialogue editing, ADR, color grading, and finishing for indie films, documentaries, and narrative productions.
We’re excited to see where If Every Day Was Christmas goes next as the team continues developing the project into a feature film.
